Contact Congress Through Twitter
Can’t reach your Member of Congress by phone or email? Don’t have the time to visit them in their district office? No problem. With the advent of social networking tools like Twitter, you can now send short (140 character) messages to your Member of Congress online.
Here’s some sample messages (just copy and paste into your status message):
@[Member's Twitter name] – Make sure gov-funded #abortion is excluded in the #healthcare bill. Vote no to gov-funded abortion.
@[Member's Twitter name] The gov either pays for #abortion or they don’t in the #healthcare bill. Vote no to gov-funded abortion.
@[Member's Twitter name] Please vote no on any #healthcare bill that doesn’t contain the Stupak amendment. No to gov-funded #abortion.
@[Member's Twitter name] I don’t want my hard earned tax money going to pay for abortions in the healthcare bill. Vote no on any bill that contains gov-funded #abortion.
