Join with your friends, family, and church members to hold a silent prayer vigil outside of the district offices of your Representative and/or Senators.

You pick the time, but some suggested time slots are:

* 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
* 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
* 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

During this time, pray that:

  • All human life is protected from abortion
  • Your elected officials act courageously to keep abortion out of any health care reform bill
  • Taxpayers are not required to fund abortions
  • People of faith and conscience are not forced intohealth care plans that mandate abortion coverage

Through your prayers, you will be “speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” Your faithful witness will also show elected officials that a vote for any health care bill including taxpayer funded abortions and mandated abortion coverage is a vote to end the lives of millions of unborn children.

Holding a prayer vigil is easy.

First, find the address of your Representative’s or Senator’s district office using these tools…

Then, follow these simple steps:

1.) Send out an e-mail today to all of your friends, family, and church members. Tell them you want to hold a silent prayer vigil at the district office for your Representative or Senator to stop the abortion mandate in health care reform. Make sure to include the office address and the time you want to hold the vigil.

2.) Make signs for the vigil that are specific to the current health care debate. Use slogans like: “Abortion is NOT Health Care,” “Keep Abortion OUT of Health Care,” “Abortion Must be EXCLUDED From Any Health Care Bill,” “NO Taxpayer Funded Abortions,” or “STOP the Abortion Mandate.”

3.) Notify the Stop the Abortion Mandate Coalition by e-mailing us at: media@stoptheabortionmandate.com. Tell us when and where you will be holding your prayer vigil, so we can alert local and national press about your event.

4.) Invite your Representative or Senator to join you for the event, to pray for abortion to be kept out of health care. Also invite local clergy members to help lead your group in prayer.

5.) Notify your local newspaper, TV, and radio stations about your vigil.

6.) Go hold your prayer vigil. Remember to keep the event peaceful and solemn — in remembrance of babies who have been killed by abortion, mothers who have been wounded by abortion, and those elected officials who are about to make life and death decisions that can affect millions.
